|

First of guys, I suggest everyone read my story and the story's here:
http://www.dvdrr.com/reviews/LoveFilm.html
And send an official letter of complain to watchdog, lovefilm is taking the piss and is scamming it's consumers.
Signed up to lovefilm for the pay for 1 month get 2 months free offer (3 months total) and signed up for a 4 disk package. It started out good with me getting around 8-12 disks per week but then after around 6 weeks it turned all bad. After sending my disks back I would only get 1 or 2 disks and a total of 4 per week, so for me paying for a 4 disk package they are scamming me even though I have 66 movies on my list.
I had loads of latest films in my top queue which have been there for since I signed up EG hostage/white cicks etc and that was at no 1/4 and 3 months later I still haven't got it. I just cancelled yesterday after my trial ended and sent the disks back on the same day as they told me they will give me a few extra days after billing date to send them back after I have cancelled. Normally disks arrive back to them in 1 day, nothing has arrived back to them today, so we'll see tommorow.
I suggest everybody should avoid these clowns unless you are signing up for the free trial because that's the only time they put effort into sending you top films to scam you into paying them more money.
Funny thing is they sent me an e-mail offering me an "EXCLUSIVE 8 DISK PAKAGE" Lol what a joke, they ca bearly sent me 4 disks a week so how do they expect to send me a demand of 8? Also when you try to cancel they changed there options whereas now you have to phone them, I phoned them 5 times and finally got through (maybe they where to busy talking to answer) and cancelled.
There are loads of other people who are being charged because apparently there disks didnot arrive back to lovefilm after they cancelled (surly this is royal mails/lovefilm's problem) and not the consumer considering this whole service is based on pre-paid envolpes supplied by lovefilm for you to send back. There's nothing in my contract or terms and conditions which state that delivery of there dicks back to lovefilm is soly my responsablity and if they don't be returned by royal mail I would be charged. All it says it THEY will not be liable, so if I am not liable and they are not liable then who is liable? royal mail? they say you must fill in a form which they will send to you if a disc is lost, i've had numerous disks lost and I have never recieved such a form.
Everyone who has a problem with lovefilm/or had a problem with them I suggest you contact watchdog through this site:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/
Lovefilm is scamming it's consumers and isn't sending them what they paid for and something need to be done about company's who are taking on alot of new members but can't supply and demand! |

Forgot to add that they are misleading customers in there adverts and promotions which the term "UNLIMITED DVDS" because for those people who don't read the small print it is not unlimited and they have put in a "fair useage" policy which if you are on a 3/4/5 disk package they couldn't care less, if you are getting alot of DVD's a week they willl cut it to only a few disks a week and slow down your turnaround.
This is illegal and misleading it's consumers, to have a compaign about unlimited DVD's only for you to put someone else in the fine print. I am surprised lovefilm hasn't been taking to court. |

Just got this e-mail today. Seems UNLIMITED is not really what it says. Will be cancelling when my current subscription expires.
Thank you for writing to us at LOVEFiLM.
We always do our best to get our customers the next discs they want as
soon as possible. In fact, 75% of what we ship each day is to
customers whose previous rentals arrived earlier that day.
However, we do operate a Fair Use Policy that aims to ensure a balanced
experience for all our members. This means that we give priority to
members who don't rent high numbers of discs from us. Therefore, members
who rent the most discs from us might experience lower mailing priority.
By allocating discs in this way we ensure a fair system for all
members.
The Fair Use Policy is in our Terms and Conditions and available for
you to read simply by clicking on the Terms and Conditions link at the
bottom of the home page.
Your next rentals will be sent on October 14, 2005.
Please feel free to contact us, in case of any further queries.
Yours Sincerely,
Luke Reynolds

As someone who is a balanced user I couldnt care less about the 'I demand my right to 40 dvds a month for 15 quid brigade'.
In fact id prefer theyd just cap the number of dvds to around 10 or so and concentrate on sending them out quickly rather than holding them back to placate the aforementioned heavy users sense of unlimited.
Lovefilm however is a truly awful company and I wouldnt recommend anyone to sign up with them. |

At least that would be honest, advertising as unlimited and then capping high volume users is morally wrong. |
