Yeah, They're offering R1 DVD rentals. I will be sure to try out their trial sometime.

14 day free trial, 3 discs £14.99, 2 discs £12.49, 1 disc £9.99.

The novelty here though, is that you can rent region 1 discs also.

The choices take some navigating and using the genre headings, etc, it makes it look like there isn't a great deal of choice, but using the search facility comes up with discs that aren't in the heading sections. I would think that this is in the very early stages.

So far I have been able to make a list of region 1 titles that you can't get over here, as well as new releases that won't be due here for months.

They are quick as well. Only signed up 40 minutes ago and I already have 2 region 1 discs allocated.

I'll feedback what the delivery is like and the turnaround in a few days, but this looks promising right now. The chance of renting region 1 titles alone might be worth the monthly fee. Very Happy

Hi, first post on this forum. Just noticed they are offering the new Narnia film on DVD for free if you pay in advance for 3 months. Just wondering if you guys have had any problems with it yet?

Can someone give us their feedback on the rental service if anyone who is reading this page is using it to give us their opinion on how good it is. Especially the verdict on the region 1 discs.

Thanks

Well got my first discs the day after I joined and have just watched "The Ice Harvest" and the unrated version of "Cry Wolf", both Region 1, both with decent extras, unlike a lot of region 2 rental titles. Still waiting for the 3rd disc to be allocated, but can't complain about speed of allocation just yet. As I said before, both those discs were allocated within less than an hour of me joining.

Didn't go for the Narnia deal, opted for the 2 weeek free trial instead.

I wont be able to comment on turnaround yet as they wont recieve these discs until Tuesday, but I'll keep you posted.

I've got 23 region 1 titles on my list, most of which you can't get here at all (banned films), and also titles that won't be released here for months yet. I've gotten bored with all the other rental companies, so if Loaded can provide a decent service, they can have my money each month, just for the region 1 titles.

Please be careful with the free trial. It is 14 days or upon your 6th rental you will be charged, whichever occurs first.

To tell you the truth, never got one.

Have to say as well, I'm already getting bad vibes.

Initially it was great, very fast allocation and delivery, but.....

I posted 2 discs back on Sunday, still not showing as returned...
3rd disc was allocated on Monday morning but didn't receive it the following day unlike the first 2 discs, so assume it will come today.

I'd like to think that it's too early to pass judgement and can excuse some teething problems, but after all the experiences with Lovefilm, etc, I'm quite sceptical these days.

Having said that, I carried out searches of more Region 1 titles available and found even more films that I just couldn't get with any other company, so I really hope that this one works out.

Well first 2 discs still not showing as received back.

The 3rd disc sent by them on Monday still isn't here.

I sent them an e-mail ( had to use the main site's contact mail as there isn't one on the rental pages), asking for clarification of some issues and asking about my discs. No response.

Tried the site's contact telephone number 3 times. No answer.

As I said before, I can forgive teething troubles, but this isn't the way to keep a customer who is on a free trial.

Now we are getting into the realm of other companies' problems with trials. If the discs don't show as returned, no cancellation before the end of the trial. So money goes out and is a bloody pain to get back from rental companies.

Just when you think you've found a good one.......... Mad

Edit:
Just managed to speak to them on the phone and was told that for some reason they seem to be having a problem with discs that were posted to and from them on Monday. The guy blamed it on the Bank Holiday, so I told him that there wasn't a Bank Holiday this week. Doh!

He also said not to worry about being accused of keeping the discs but did confirm that no more would be sent out until the others were logged as being returned, or after 10 days has gone by, new allocations would be sent. I did point out that 10 days ate up a large chunk of a 14 day trial period and that new customers wouldn't be impressed by this, but he confirmed that that was the policy.

It does come across as a teething problem and I suppose it is good to know in one way that they are aware that there is a problem this week.

I'll post further in a few days.

I signed on for the 2 week free trial with 2 discs but in one week they were only able to send me one single dvd! Not really convincing for a trial. I don't trust them as you don't get any emails that you signed up or anything at all.
