Hi all,

This is by FAR the poorest trial i have had so far.

Signed up on 07/10/04 for the three disk trial.

First disks on my list are;
The Sopranos season 3, disks 1, 2, 3, 4
and
24 Season 3, all 7 disks (in order of course)

Have sent disk back on the next postal day!! and so far have had 3 in 11 days (1 of which they say is still in the post back to them).
I think this is WAY TOO SLOW!!

And whats more, the disks i have had are the Sopranos disks 2 and 3, and, 24 disk 4 which i think you will agree is really helpful.

So i think i will cancel. Not a hard decision.

Dave

Hi all,
I have just started the 30 day trial with Global e Rental site.

Despite the comments of others here I found there search system very good, after being together with Blockbuster more than 6 months now.

Also, you can rent ps2 and xbox games which was the reason for me to try them. and i will stick with them if their service is good.

I signed for [2 dvd + 2 games] package currently [15.99 after the trial, which is very good] , and will see how it goes.

they may not have too many dvds to select, but as I have checked today, they have all the latest releases [only checked movies].
and games part is really good, they have all the latest release games like Halo 2, FIFA 2005, NFS Underground 2, and many others.

Looks like a really good rent site to me..

I will keep you informed of my experiences with them.

Hi,

I just finished my free trial with Globalerental 3-4 days before Christmas, the subscription was due to end on the 1st Jan.

After I cancelled my subscription, I sent back the three titles I had out at the same time, they only received two of them and now they are charging my account for a months subscription.

The reason I cancelled my trial is that I thought they were too slow at sending out DVD movies. I was not impressed with their service.

Cheers

Stuff that... damn them! Arrow A decent DVD company gives you an additional 7 or more days to get the DVD's back once you've cancelled, so for them to charge you would be wrong. Mad

Happy New Year ...

Hi,

Just got an email back from them saying that they have refunded my credit card and that the DVD must be lost in the post.

Can't fault Globalerental for the quick reply and fast refund.

Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year to All Very Happy

Totally agree the WORST trial I have had (and blockbuster were pretty bad).

I started my trial on 11/Jan/2005. It is now 24/Jan/2005 and I have yet to view a DVD. The three discs I was originally sent were all defective. I have returned them, but have yet to receive replacements. Checking the wish list, 2 are still out, even though I returned them on 15/Jan/2005. Even the one that did get back has not being replaced, as all I can see is a DVD to be dispatched.

As I cannot see myself viewing any DVDs in the foreseeable future, I tried to cancel the membership.

Then I got this message!

You have 0 games and 2 titles
Your subscription cannot be cancelled until you return, or pay for, these DvDs.
Please contact Customer Support for further assistance.

How could I ever cancel the subscription? If I send them back, they’d replace them and say I have one out! Surely I must be able to cancel the account pending the return of the DVDs (Which I returned over a week ago!).

I have asked to cancel my membership with immediate effect.

BE WARNED: They are very bad!!!!!

I trialed these guys with a very good turn-around and cancelled recently (and cancelled the WorldPay setup, so they couldn't charge me) with no problems, so lucky for me it seems. Exclamation

I had a consistent free trial period - the turn around wasn't really speedy but always got discs in my top 5. So I decided to stay with them for a while (running out of free trials Laughing ) but then it all went horribly wrong! As soon as I started paying never got any of my top 10 let alone top 5. Turnaround sooooo slow and when I reported a faulty disc I got a "thank you we'll get back to you" but nothing and it stayed in my rented items for days. I must have reported it about 6 times. Is it just me that thinks if you report a disc they should immediately dispatch another?? Needless to say I have now left them!
