Have been trying Lovefilm on a four-week free trial. Turnaround speed seems pretty good, a bit better than ScreenSelect (who I'm also trialling). And I like Lovefilm's queue management system better than ScreenSelect's. But....of the first three DVDs I received, one was damaged (playable but froze a few times) and one was unplayable (dvd player didn't recognise it, nor did pc dvd drive). Okay...so that happens....but I reported the unplayable one on Friday night and didn't receive a response until yesterday (Wednesday), and reported the other one on Saturday and didn't receive a response until today (Thursday).

ScreenSelect's system for dealing with disc problems seems to be better - you report in on-line and they immediately clear it from your list of rented items, so the process to dispatch a new one starts right away. They'e also got a system for dispatching a series in order, which Lovefilm don't (though their help pages do say they're working on it). Their recommendations sometimes seem to be...umm....interesting....Shrek 2 generates a recommendation for "La Balance", an 18-rated movie "Set in the seedy back streets of Paris, prostitutes and pimps compete with the criminals and cops... to stay alive. French dialogue with English subtitles." Huh?

I'll hold on to the end of the trial with Lovefilm, but despite their faster turnaround, unless the service improves I'll be sticking with ScreenSelect.

Hiya. I too couldn't decide between the 2 companies myself when I first trialed them (and then as a paying member) but stuck with LoveFilm longer simply because I preferred their queue management system too over ScreenSelect's system, and never had any real problems with LoveFilm - I've praised them enough, but agree they're not perfect, hehe. Good luck..
