|
|
I signed up for the 30 day videoisland trial (via the Kiss100 website). Initially they set my account up for 14 days so I had to complain and get them to change it to 30 days.
When I tried to cancel they offered me what I understood was a 2 week extra free trial. The wording of their offer seems a bit ambiguous. Even the info on the dvdrials website didn't really explain the fact that it's not really a 2 week free trial extension, it's a 2 week credit. In other words you get your 2nd month at half price. So I will end up paying about £8. Which isn't really a big deal, but it is £8 more than I expected to be paying.
fyi, when I complained, I received the following reply:
On the 15/09/2004 you started your 30 day FREE TRIAL, this ended on the
>15/10/2004. On the 05/10/2005 you tried to cancel your account but
>took us up on our 2 week credit of £7.98. This is a credit and not an
>additional 2
>week FREE TRIAL. When you where billed on the 15/10/2004 £7.98 was
>deduicted from the bill of £17.34 and this is why you have been billed
£8.80
>
>Attached is the 2 week offer you agreeded to.
>
>Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further
>queries.
By the way, the attachment was a 4MB .bmp file (and note the 2 spelling mistakes above).
So, overall, not that impressed, but I can't be bothered to argue over £8. But I hope this is helpful to one or 2 people. |

The 2 weeks extra free credit was on site:
Videoisland 2 weeks free
But suprised they didnt offer you 30 days if it was advertised with Kiss100. |

"Another 2 weeks free trial" what the phrase that confused me (this is also the wording on the dvdtrials link above). I assumed it would be another 2 weeks free which it's not. If you accept the "2 weeks free" offer, you are agreeing to stay with them another month and receive a credit for 2 weeks so the 2nd 2 weeks is not free and you will be charged for it whether you cancel or not.
It might just be confusion on my part but just in case any one wasn't sure I thought I'd try to make it clear. |
