I've used them and they were slow. I signed up with them on Tuesday and 2 DVDs arrived on Friday and one on Monday. They also don't use the order in which you select them, they just randomly send you stuff.

I've tried all them now (no, really, haven't paid for a rental this year) and if I decided to pay for one of them it would be Screen Select.

Regards

Dude

I'm presently trialing these guys and they are very slow, and only 2 of the first 3 DVD's were received, thus 1 has been lost. This company is not recommended among the 8 or so companies I've trialed.

I have used them the last couple of weeks and I am not impressed at all. They sent me a DVD but didnt put enough postage on it so I had to drive to the Royal Mail Depot and pay extra to retrieve it.

When I emailed them I got no reply.

I then cancelled my subscription 3 days before the end of my free trial and sent back all the DVDs at the same time. They noted they recieved 2 of them but not the third and I have now been charged £20.

Again I have emailed them, twice, and I havent heard a thing from them.

I have tried most of these free trials and I wouldnt rate this very highly.

Screen Select are the best as far as i am concerned.

movie pigeon is definately a dvd company you should avoid like the plaque. They claimed i didn't send my dvd's back and so charged me £20.After several emails and contacting the royal mail they suddenly said that they had had the dvd's returned but could not give me my money back as i had not returned them in time for the free trial.I am really angry with them and believe they have defrauded money out of me.Stay away from them you have been warned.

if you have proof of postage, send it to them and they may be more sympathetic.

sad fact is too many people cancel too late, send films back too late, then complain that payment has been taken. if you exceed the free trial, expect to pay. may be £1 per day late or may be a full month's fees.

remember, you have an obligation to return all DVDs before the end of the free trial or before the next payment is due. if you do not do that, it's nobody else's fault but your own.

I have used Movie Pigeon and although they were a slower than other companies I had the trial and had no problems.

Always get a proof of post when you return the dvds. I have had to contact a number of companies before the end of the trial to inform them that the dvds have been returned, I have proof of post and I wish to cancel, one company even extended the trial period by a week to allow for delays in the post.

Ideally you need to contact these dvd rental companies before payment is taken - it costs them to firstly take payment and again to refund your money.

I've used these guys again and they were fine, again.. so a bit harsh for the warning msg, as it's only a few users negative comments. I really do like their website, simple and user-friendly but still too small of a collection.

i have been with moviepigeon from the start and yes some dvd's do go missing however, the blame solely lies on the shoulders of the royal mail!

moviepigeon are a family run business and with giants like screen select and blockbuster in the market i think they do a fantastic job!

they have also changed the packages too so that for £20 a month you now get 4 yes 4 dvd's at anyone time. which to me shows they are trying to match the earlier mentioned bigger conglomerates !!!!

also moviepigeon get the latest releases the day they are released and dont wait 3-4 weeks like some other companies do ! it is the only company to be a member of the Video Standards Council!

AND the recent changes to the order list system is brilliant because you change decide when you get which film and if a series is not ready to be delivered in order they will send you other films in your waiting list to avoid watching your series out of order!

i am not saying they dont have there problems because every company does what i am sayin is that for a small solely owned family run business they do a terrific job!

and for those who like adult entertainment they have WHITHOUT DOUBT the largest and best collection by far !

i say give them a try because who wants a world ruled by huge corparations like macdonalds and blockbuster !! give the little guys a chance!!! Laughing

Movie Pigeon, are still one of the few that I've never joined.....probably because there is not enough there to lure me in.

They don't seem to offer enough dvd's to justify the £20 per month and their free trial period seems stingy.....compared to others.

So even with the 4 dvd's for £20 per month.....the temptation is still not there.

registered for free trial they allocated me 2 dvds at 21:09 on the 21st july then because by 26th i had not recived them and got no reply from customer service so i cancelled worldpay aggrement. then i get this message-

Dear Russell, thank you for your email. Could you please let us know if
these films have not arrived yet? There are no delays with the post and if
you have not we will have to conduct an investigation into the theft of
these 2 films. Also we notice you have cancelled your worldpay agreement -
so we have suspended your account pending the outstanding dvds.

Kind regards
