SS Trying to Rip Me Off!

Hi,

I just had a letter forwarded to me from my father; before I moved out of his place well over a year ago, I had a trial with ScreenSelect. The service was appalling, I received maybe 10 DVD's in total throughout my month's free trial, and deservedly cancelled with them. However, now, more than one year on ,they've decided that apparently I never returned one of my DVD's to them, and are going to charge me £20 for it.

This is, obviously, complete and utter ********. I didn't use recorded delivery because I sent the DVD back about 10 days before I'd decided to cancel, and of course according to their T & C you should always obtain proof of posting after you've cancelled your account, and EVEN if I had, it's been more than a year, there's no way I'd still have the proof of posting!

What the hell should I do about this blatant attempt at extortion?

I would end this post with a warning that no-one should ever under any circumstances use this company, but it seems that this entire forum is full of bad experiences with the company. So, just be sure to obtain proof of posting if you do take a free trial with them, and keep it for the rest of your life.
