thanks - you've just convinced me why I should cancel my subscription at the end of this month!

yeah I'd go for it at 3 for 1 but what's the point in me and others being paying subscribers if we're subsidising so many major loss leaders like this?

No point at all mate. These companies do existing subscribers no favours at all,so why stay loyal to them.
Tip:Leave lovefilm at end of term, join blockbusters on 2 months free trial,
(code XZTP56 )(Thanks to Laz) and by the time that term is up Lovefilm will no doubt offer you a deal to return. Why suffer.

I cancelled lovefilm a couple of days ago after getting an email offering 3 months for 1 and then another one telling me I'd be getting vouchers for my friends.

While at the same time waiting for new disks to be sent out.

I feel the service is excellent and good value for money but the pee is being taken when offering massively subsidised free trials and come back offers to non payers and nothing in the way of incentives to those who pay. This in fact makes an incentive to leave.

When I cancelled I expected to be asked why and be offered an incentive to stay but they just closed the account and said goodbye - even though I'm a good customer because I only rent around 10-12 titles in a month.
