Royal Mail is facing a record £11.4m fine for failing to adequately prevent mail being lost, damaged or stolen.

Postcomm launched an investigation in 2004 after media reports claimed that some staff were tampering with mail.

suprise suprise they are appealing against the fine which they claim is unfair

not a happy time for the royal mail who have already been fined £7million for failing to deliver first and second-class letters in time.

then theres this

A POSTAL worker who stole thousands of letters and parcels over a period of more than five years has been warned she could face jail.

Lisa Harvey admitted stealing 8,232 items of mail between October 1999 and July 2005.

The 31-year-old, from Mutley, Plymouth, also admitted charges of wilfully delaying the delivery of mail and of intentionally delaying mail at Plymouth Crown Court.

Royal Mail began an investigation after residents in two postcode areas complained their mail was delivered days, weeks and even years late.

Judge Paul Darlow said all sentencing options "would be kept open".

Sentencing was adjourned until March 9 for reports.

The case comes after regulator Postcomm said it was finalising action against Royal Mail for jeopardising "mail integrity".

the Post was always my big concern when I started rental a few months agao....so far I havent had any go missing, but some have been very late in arriving.

My gripe here is that if it does go missing or lost, the rental companies dont give you any compensation for lost time....thats not right. When you sign up for a rental service then it should b an end to end solution!
