So last time you tried you were charged?
The only way to find out if you can get a free trial is to sign up and therefore give your Credit card details. If their cross-check shows you have already had a free trial with the company you will get billed for the month. Trying to get more than one free trial is a gamble. If you fail you get billed for the month. So be warned people.

Nope. I've received my first 3 discs and I've NOT been charged. I used a different e-mail address from previously but the same postal address. I definitely have a month's free trial again. I can only assume that once in a while, they either purge their records of old accounts, or more likely, that they will allow another trial in the hope of getting your business. In their terms and conditions, it does seem to allow for this occasional discretion. "Only one free trial may be redeemed per household. Previous subscribers will not qualify for further free trials, save at Blockbuster’s discretion. "
As for the last time I tried, no I wasn't charged. They tell you in the signing up process that your address has had the offer before, then they give you the choice of continuing to sign up as a paying customer or to cancel. They don't automatically take your money if you've signed up before. Applying for a free trial isn't the same process as re-activating an old account. |

Bit of discretion Guys.
The Rental companies read these posts as well. |

I don't have a problem with the companies reading these posts. In fact I would encourage it. I don't think they are naive enough to believe that people won't take advantage of free trials whenever they can. They probably count on it. It's an easy way of getting more business.
Personally, I'm no longer interested in moving from one free trial to another. I think those days are gone. What I would like to do though is use a free trial to re-evaluate the service that a company offers. I've trialled all of the companies over the last 2 years and I've paid subscriptions to 4. A free trial every so many months would allow me to re-assess the service compared to how it performed before and against how my current company's service is performing.
That's what I'm currently doing with Blockbuster. 2 weeks into the trial and I've already turned over 12 discs. Maybe thay have changed from the last time I tried them.
They've been decent enough to let me try again. If the good service continues, they'll be rewarded with my business once again. If not, they won't and the moment the service slips, they'll lose me. |
