Having been completely happy with SS for the first few months of my time with them I'm beginning to worry a bit about the lag in return times which coincided with the fire but haven't improved since. We moved during the summer which means I'm working from home in the afternoons and we don't have cable TV so often watch movies at night, plus I pass the post office centre on the way home so usually return them there.
The thing is that if they're going to advertise an "unlimited" service then they are going to have to acknowledge that there will always be, at best, a two day delivery time for each DVD (there and back) but more likely a three day or even five day (for weekends) one. So the speed with which they can assign new titles is vital to the quality of the service.
It used to be that I'd get a new DVD assigned by about 2.30pm the same day but now it's usually either 1 day or 2 days later (not including weekends). My worry, reading other posts here and elsewhere, is that it's not just a case of disorganisation from the fire or the move but a deliberate policy to stop people renting too much. Does anyone have evidence that SS deliberately do not quickly assign new titles to people who are quick returners?
I've also had similar experiences with customer services whereby I'll mail them to complain and then very quickly I'll get a DVD assigned which leads me to think that it's not that the DVDs aren't there. |
