| I dont think they're doing too badly considering the fire. If your house burned down see how many dvds youd send out. |

Has their service returned to normal?

Obviously, If I was running a dvd rental company from my home, then this would be a catastrophe, but my main concern would be to my existing customers.
Have ScreenSelect shown any real concern to their customers?
Well I've been hearing bad things about them, especially with their so called compensation. Apparantly, to receive this extra time (1 week), it means that for many, they have to take on another paid month with them.
So for those who don't want to pay for another month, they have in fact lost out.
So why defend a greedy company who treat their customers in this fashion?
Personally, it would make my day, if their insurance company refused to stump up the cash. |

I think the post from the Screenselect Director is both accurate and very truthful, he proved that in the first line of his post when he used the words
"ScreenSelect" and "Absolute rubbish" in the same sentence, you can't get more accurate or truthful than that to describe them!

Agreed.
Don't know who he was trying to kid but they have major problems as a result of the fire.
A shame really as they were the only company to promptly refund me without much question after they charged me after a free trial. I took them for another month since but every DVD rental company is almost as bad as each other it would seem. |

Since the fire, excluding the first few days, I've noticed that turnaround times are worse, but still within one working day as advertised on the website. I did also have one same day turnaround this week, so things are improving.
I'm not getting my top choice titles most of the time, but as they are titles in my list that I still want to see I can hardly complain. The discs that are coming through seem to be old stock (this week I got one in a tatty paper sleeve!) so it seems to be that discs that may have been 'retired' previously have been put back into circulation. To be honest I'm amazed that any sort of service has been maintained after a fire.
As the deal I have with them is good - a legacy of my time with DVDs365 - and I'm unlikely to get a better one elsewhere, I'm reluctant to leave them. I still feel that I'm getting reasonable value for money on my current deal, even at the current service levels. I've always rated value for money as approximately £1 per rental, and I still achieved that last month, taking the one week compensation into account. I'll cancel if the service gets any worse, but it's just about acceptable to me at the moment. |
