|
|
This is what royal mail say about first class mail:-
"We aim to deliver most First Class mail by the next working day, including Saturdays. If you're sending mail far away, catch the early morning post so it's more likely to be delivered the next working day."
From my experience with screenselect, DVDs received almost always arrive the next day ie. they post in their evening post and I receive in the following morning mail and if not definitely the next morning.
When returning DVDs it's different - they are guaranteed to take longer even if they are posted before the morning collection from the postbox, screen select still dont record them as received promptly - they always take a few days to get back to them - very suspicious. |

yip they do.
Dont ask them about it cos they will deny it. But yes I do belielve they do. If I send a disc back on the monday morning it used to get there on the tuesday as you would expect and I do believe it still does but it takes screenselect an extra day before they admit to recieving it.
I sent them an email about this and immeditantly after i send it they had recieved the disc back? At 3.30 in the after noon! How obvious is that. The email asked if they did do this and it seemed like they were and what amn intresting response I got back.
| Quote: | We do not hold on to discs and advise incorrect delivery dates. Could you please advise how you know we do this as this is untrue. If you truly beleive we are deceiving you we would suggest you close your account. We do not need to change our terms and conditions, or hire more staff as you suggest.
We would like to note that your email return notices are set off. You are not advised when we receive a disc back from you so can you please advise how you obtain this information.

They want me to prove that they are holding back discs!, i also like that part about if you not happy then you can leave, what about my 6 month paid up front, wont make that mistake again.
The next dvd I get mid week I plan to send back recorded delivery just so I can prove this!
oh and have you seen the terms and conditions, they can canel your account when ever they want and they do not have to tell you why or give you any money back, This is blatent theft! |

I would say that they do everything they can, to drag the account down to a standstill.
Even when I cancelled with them, I had to do it a week in advance (I didn't want them to have any excuse to screw me for another month).
When I had a couple of days to go with them, I logged in to find the message about not being able to cancel, until they had received all discs back.
There was 1 disc which took an amazing 9 days to get returned to them (I had sent it back the previous week).
So I felt a great sense of relief when it had been returned, but that message was still there, about them not having the discs returned.
I gave them a phone call and I told the person I spoke to, " Why the hell is my account not closed, when you clearly have all the discs returned"?
He said that it must be some problem with their computer system and he dealt with it manually.
Yes it suits them to "stall the logging of returned dvds", because not only can they "cap" the account, they can also get another month's rental money.
So I would advise anyone wanting RID of them, to give at least a full week to do so. It might mean having paid for 3 weeks instead of a month, but they cannot be trusted.

Personally my returns always seem to make it to SS on the next day, though 90% of the time I post my DVDs for return at the mail sorting office itself
One thing I would say in their defence is that although the post made be delivered to them in the morning with the amount of returns there are I can understand that sometimes it could be early afternoon that the discs are scanned in (or whatever they do) and so show up as returned. I worked for Blockbuster for three years (dont' hold it against me!) and I know that even at that level the drop box could take an hour or more to empty on busy days just in terms of physically scanning the barcodes. So don't think that just because the DVDs only register later that day that there's somethign suspicious - though the fact it showed up after you complained IS... |

| They certainly do not receive or despatch disks on Saturdays. |
