So it looks like LF have changed the look of their envelopes >

We are very pleased to announce that from this week you will start to receive new LOVEFiLM envelopes! As you can see we now have a new variety of exciting and collectable envelopes for you to enjoy!

I'm sure these new "trendy" envelopes will create more than a passing interest to any "sticky fingered" posties out there.

almost as good as blockbusters grand plan of "lets get rid of the pastic cases that protect the discs and use crappy cheap card sleeves that scratch the discs so they don't work"

'collectable' envelopes?!?!?

Ha ha ha ha - another example of Lovefilm's slipping grasp on reality.

I wish L.F. would spend their effort on customer service rather than pissing about with so called collectable envelopes. What's that all about!!
and I totally agree re. blockbusters card sleeves. They just scratch the hell out of the discs and make them easier to break in the post.
What next eh! sending discs via courier pigeon?!!

Agreed on all the above.

I say we just get a pigeon to run the companies the way they have performed of late! Rolling Eyes

The use of - "LOOK!!! It's a DVD inside Postie!!!" envelopes are so dumb I fail to understand the whole concept. Whilst the rest of us with common sense try to conceal items of any value when we post a letter/package these muppets openly brag about the contents value in big bold letters! Confused

Yeah, I know it's absolutely insane! At least the current Lovefilm envelopes are a drab green, whereas Amazon.co.uk colour their DVD envelopes a bright, fluorescent orange just in order to attract the thieving scum.

We need to have them send us these DVDs wrapped in cotton wool in unmarked, brown paper parcels. Granted, the neighbours may then assume we're receiving porn, but at least we'll be getting the DVDs without hassle.

I got a yellow one Laughing Laughing . Its all I've ever wanted. Thank you Lovefilm, your yellow collectable envelope made my life complete.
Then it was cruely taken from me, when I had to return the disc! I am now in a period of deep suffering at my loss. Twisted Evil Crying or Very sad

What absolute pillock came up with this idea. Collectable envelopes. It wuld be funny if it was so pathetic.

I don't think this will actually work - who wants to collect bits of coloured card!
From a business point of view, it may cost them to set this up but their end game is to save money.

iLoveFilm use a Business Reply Service - everytime one of their post-back envelopes goes through the mail system the account number is scanned and the cost of each one adds more onto their monthly Business Reply bill.

If you keep the envelope, and pay yourself to send the disc back yourself, they save money.

Does anyone remember a few months ago.........they wanted their customers to return their discs in 1 envelope (to help them to reduce the postage costs).

Well maybe this is what they still want everyone to do.......and as a reward.....you will be left with one of their highly prized collectable envelopes.

btw.....I've still never received any of these yet.....just the usual snot coloured envelopes.
