Hey guys, I'm new here, and just registered a few minutes ago. I've been browsing these boards for a while now and it looks like a cool place to exchange information about various Online DVD Rentals.
I've been renting DVD's for about 5 months now, And not been charged a penny. (I mean I've been using free trials on various sites). These are the companies I have trialled so far-
Lovefilm
Tesco
Blockbuster
DVDs365
Postadvd
Erental
My movie stream
Movie connect
1dvd
Movie pigeon
I'm sure there a couple more but these are the ones I remember. All these trials have gone excellently for me except for 1 - Movie pigeon. I registered for a free trial with them and the first week was excellent! I was getting around 8-12 DVD's a week. However, The second week was awful. I got 1 DVD, on the 4 DVD Package. I cancelled my subscription and returned all DVD's well before the end of the free trial. However, I was still billed £20. I contacted movie pigeon several times and they never replied. I tryed phoning them and all I ever got was an answering machine. So I called my credit card company and asked for a chargeback. That is the worst and only expereince I've had with DVD Rentals.
Anyway, I'm gonna become a paying member of one soon so...

Hi Furgy and welcome to the sad club,
Just looked up Movie connect on google,cos i've never heard of it.The link below apparantly has them listed as a scam site.

Whats your thoughts on that.
I've been with all the others and at the present time,i would say that Mymoviestream are behaving brilliantly,unlike all the other big players.
I'm into my 4th week with them now and the turnaround is unbeatable,choice pretty good and customer service although poor at first is fast improving.If its number of disks that is high on your list,then these are the guys.

Hey,
I went to the link you provided, and saw that www.movieconnect.net is listed there. I use www.movieconnect.co.uk. They are a cool site, However, My free trial finishes on Monday, So I'm cancelling today. Hopefully All should go well.
Mymoviestream do seem good-I will probably join them. I've just signed up to moviemine (first month half price £9 for 4 disc package). Got my first discs today. Seems good. I also got another month free from lovefilm, So I'm on that right now too. Bah, I signed up to both lovefilm on friday at 10am. Moviemine sent me the discs out on friday so I received them saturday (today). Lovefilm said they had finished their dispatches today (at 10am????) So My first discs should be dispatched on monday (Do they not work saturdays????). But they did add 3 more days onto my free trial so I don't lose out too much. |

Thanks for pointing that out and i will give them a try,as long as you don't post any bad news next week after cancelling.  |
