|
|
Having major issues with Cheeky DVD website (not that they're for me of course....!! All went well through the trial (familiar story ) and through most of the first month but then my returns mysteriously didn't seem to get back to them. Now i'm sure there are genuine errors etc and posties on the make etc but i've not had 1 disc go missing in all my time with BB, Lovefilm, ScreenSel, or DVD365.
Issue now is that the last 2 rentals they sent me on the 1st June went missing also.Despite 8 emails to them, one answer back asking for clarification, and a Lost in Post form returned 2 weeks ago, they are still sitting in my rented section, therefore not a single DVD sent for over 1 month and another payment taken from my account (brilliant business for them- get paid for doing nothing!!)
Anyone had similar issues or thoughts about how i can resolve this with a company that dont respond to communication? |

| Yes I cancelled about 6 weeks ago after having many films go missing. The will not respond to any emails and continue to take subscription fee. I have contacted my bank and reported it as fradulent, as I cancelled over 6 weeks ago. I think they are either going bust or are just a bunch of con men |

Its a shame isn't it- companies like these give the whole market place a bad name! I've still had zero response from them, except when i cancelled last week after giving up on getting any response. Sure enough i got an email straight away telling me i had to return the DVDs in my rental queue before they would close the account!

Would be interested to hear if you hear anymore. I object to signing a loss form, as they send out a blank royal mail loss form, which should be filled out and signed by the sender, not the recepient. It also says on the form that you all the information you give is correct, and could be used against you if they suspect fraud. How do we know they posted it in the first place?
I am expecting future run in's with them, as 6 weeks after cancelling my account they are still taking payments and showing it as active. They will not respond to emails and have no telephone customer service |

| To all those having problems with companies that won't stop taking payments, and banks that refuse to help, I suggest reporting your card as stolen. You'll get a new one with a new number and they won't be able to keep taking payments. |

| I spoke to my bank and apparently if they have a monthly debit authorised prior to the date of the loss/theft of the cards they can still take money. I had to go down the route of telling them it was a fradulant transaction, as i had on more that one occasion informed them I had cancelled and instructed them not to take any more money. My bank will monitor my account now and if they take another payment, they will then reject it. Loads of hassle. Wish we had never heard of them |

I looked up their whois info to see if they had registered it to the PO BOX and they hadn't, I'm calling the number to see what happens.
They owe me 4 months money back as I cancelled in April and I'm obviously not best please as it is nearly 80 quid!

I have spoken to someone called Mark who confirmed at the address on the Whois info but said that he knew nothing about Exfinity or Cheeky DVD - no idea if genuine or not.
The company Exfinity Limited is registered with Companies House but at an address in Harlow so obviously a bogus name being used by whoever is doing this.
Only thing is, if enough people are complaining about being ripped off, is there a way of getting the details of someone who setup a PO Box??? |

| No idea mate.....I would contact your bank though and insist that the money is taken back. When they took money from my account after I had cancelled I reported it as a fradulant transaction. Your bank will credit the money back in your account and persue the company for it.......They also charge the company for the refusal of payment as well. |

Sorry to hear people are getting ripped off. I was just gonna sign up with them, but won't be doing so now after reading this.
Can anyone recomend an alternative? Most of the other similar services seem to be US based and don't deal outside the US. Any ideas? |
