Reactivated my frozen account(15 days) yesterday.4 discs arrived this morning. This is nothing short of miraculous.But will it continue.Will it shite.Normal service will be resumed asap.Hope i'm proved wrong but somehow i doubt it.  |

Service has been superb for a week or so now, I'm still cancelling though when my next payment is due next week. I think the key is only stay with any of these companies for 1-2 months at a time MAX. It's then when the throttling starts on your service.  |

Welcome back Bazwaldo.......hope you had a nice break, from the land of dvd rentals....
Just like yourself I re-activated my LF account (nearly 2 weeks ago) and it is like being treated as a new customer.
Unfortunately, I can't stop myself from being a heavy user, so it will probably be just a matter of time, before they start throttling my account again.
So as soon as it happens again, I'm going to freeze it for a couple of weeks, then activate it again.
It proves though that they are capable of providing a decent service when they make the effort.
We shall see.......

Just like you Jiltz i am an unashamed heavy user,so after ''watching'' my 4 discs yesterday i returned them before the last post.
All acknowledged back today and 2 sent out (from my top ten by the way) ,which i suppose for them at present is half decent.But i suppose it will be another couple of days for the other 2 to be sent out.I had in mind to freeze the account again for a few days if none were sent out,so i think thats why they at least make sure everybody has at least 1 disc out 'cos as you know you can't freeze while you have outstanding discs.I am still cancelling,as you are doing Laz when my next payment is due,unless i get the urge to freeze again before then.
Thanks Jiltz i did have a nice break from dvd rental land,but i still couldn't stop myself taking my portable dvd with me to get my fix.  |

Freeze then cancel seems to be the way to go to stop these cowboys chargng for yet another month from what I hear which is what I have just done.
Seems many people who cancel correctly get charged when the next payment would have been due. |

It will probably be the same......the Lovefilm Fair Use Policy.....
2 weeks of really good service, followed by account throttling.

I've just frozen mine for the 2nd time and in a couple of weeks time, I'll unfreeze it and start with a "clean slate" again.
I think that 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off (just like shifts) might be an effective way to beat their Fair Use Policy.
I just hope there isn't a limit to the amount of times that a person can freeze/unfreeze.

My experience too date, had account suspended because of the Post excuse, looked at "Discs lost" and noticed that the discs they said went missing on way to me actually arrived and were sent back via proof of postage? Rang them up to get told that their records are different than mine (of course they are, they lie and can't cover their tracks).
Well account unsuspended and all seems fine for the first 6 discs, guess what? Things have changed again, three sent back to them one sent out to me, then another a day later but no luck on the third being updated as yet.
Never mind only a week or two left and bye, bye LF. |

Service from Lovefilm has been stupendous since i reactivated,but the damage has already been done and i am still cancelling,despite the email from them ''for your eyes only'' detailed below:

They are having a laugh,right.What are the chances of getting 8 discs at a time.Unbelievable.Extreme package will be right,EXTREMELY unlikely that they are sincere about it.Anyway it is exactly double the amount charged for 4 discs so what's so special about it.
Looks like they are trying to please people coming to the end of their 3 months in the vain attempt to keep them. |
