Yeah, it is a bit, but it must be some investment in stock to start a business like this. I've emailed them to ask why they don't have recent tv releases like Sopranos season 5, Scrubs, Deadwood etc but no reply yet.
Hopefully if they get lots of *paying* subscribers, they'll widen their stock. |

Hello everybody
Been lurking for a while so thought it was time to join.
I trialled MMC after seeing the heads up here and i was very impressed during the trial, received my top titles each time. Now into my first week as a paying member and noticably i am now getting titles slightly lower in my queue but still better than LF/BB are at the moment and their turnaround is spot on.
What i don't follow though is the AVAILABILITY column! Even when its says NOW i didnt get sent these titles (1 & 2 in my queue). Slightly confusing and misleading! |

Hi and welcome Stapled, glad you decided to stop being a lurker.
I thought this was an excellent feature to have with your queue, but it is not much good if it performs as you describe.I can say that for me it has been spot on and i don't recollect any other posts that have commented on that fault.Maybe it is just a temporary glitch.I have also noticed that apart from saying NOW or SHORT WAIT i have some titles that are just blank in this column.Any guesses as to what that means. |

Cheers Baz.
The feature is a strange one. For it to work to perfection, someone at MMCs end would need to be updating each discs availaility in real time so as you know virtually to the minute if you should get a disc sent that day. The question is what does available now actually mean? Does it mean there is a copy(s) sitting there waiting to go out for anyone wantng it or does it just mean there are copies available that day and you may get lucky with getting one? I would think it means the latter. However as my top 3 titles yesterday showed available now and i didnt get sent any of them, what use is this feature?
Of course this feature would not work if they do things the Lovefilm way ie hand pick who gets what based on how heavy a renter they are!
As for the blank i noticed that with Constantine once but i guess it may just be them having just added the title and they hadn't keyed in availibility yet. |

I too noticed that some 'avaliable now' titles were being overlooked during picking, and i sent MMS an email. Here's the reply i just got;
| Quote: |
Dear ******
We trust you are well? We have looked closely at your complaint and have indeed identified a minor software glitch. This has incorrectly flagged a number of quite large DVD deliveries in to the warehouse with the onward effect of leaving the status as 'now' even when all stock is out. This will be fixed by tomorrow morning and will affect the status of some titles in your queue. In addition, we have looked at all subscriber's positions 1-3 and have ordered the balance from the studios to cover any shortfall.
******, we assure you our intention is to predict future title requirements and match stock accordingly. I think it is clear from yours and other comments that this is the number one customer requirement in the market. We won't always get it right as demand can be a strange thing, but our intention is to be the best.
Thanks for championing us so well. I look forward to seeing the fall out on dvdtrials.co.uk!
Kind Regards
MyMovieStream

It's refreshing that they are willing to identify, admit to, and promise to fix problems. As long as this attitude continues, matched with the perfect disc turnaround already evident, this company should become a major player.

Heads up, but who owns mymoviestream.com?
The owner is listed as:
Charitas Communications Limited
Round Street House
Round Street Common
Wisborough Green, West Sussex GU6 8BS
But the postcode given is not for West Sussex.
Also there is no Round Street House but there is a Round Street Common in Wisborough Green.
Carefulness is advised given scams like www.dvd******.net |

Well everything is fine with MMS for me so far, however your dectective work with address is a bit strange. Did you get these details off company registrars?
Tell me about this other company you link to , what's the story there? Looks fairly authentic. Is it 100% a scam ie take money and you never see any discs? |

Well, there's been nothing dodgy about how MMS have conducted themselves so far, in my opinion anyway. Quite the opposite if anything. I get the impression that some people are going out of their way to make something out of nothing, like the dodgy address claims.
As long as they keep sending discs like they have done, then who cares what their address is!!

Too true.
Admittedly we had a scare from them recently(no disks or communication for a few days)but i thought their explanation was feasible and they appeared very genuine so i for one am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and am sure with a bit of support they will become a major player.Let's face it they aint got much to beat if the way LF,SS and BB are behaving lately is any yardstick to measure with. |

Just happened to me for first time.My top title was showing as NOW but had 3 others below sent out.One of them was one that was just blank in the available column.Go figure.
Still i'm not complaining. As long as i'm getting full turnaround i don't really care what order they come in.Up yours LF and BB. |
