Thanks marcus,i got an answer from that phone number and spoke to a customer service rep called Ian Pilgrim who was very helpful and apologetic. It seems that apart from the London events delaying mail they have had a local post dispute which was resolved yesterday. To compound matters they had a fault with their email system which basically meant that any emails posted from their site they did not receive. He was most apologetic and said if my discs do not turn up they will be logged as lost.He went on to say that they have lost a lot of customers because of the disrupted service and the fact that there was no communication from them. The fault has now been fixed and they should now receive emails sent from the site, although all others that were sent previous will be lost.
They are going to contact this forum to explain everything.

At MyMovieStream, we pride ourselves on the speed and quality of our
service and, having been alerted to the points raised on this forum by
one of our Members, we wanted to take the opportunity to explain the
recent short-term service issue and to re-assure the readers and
contributors that our normal service has now resumed.

We rely on Royal Mail's First Class postage for delivery and return of
our Members' DVD choices and, when the dreadful attack on London
took place last Thursday, we contacted Royal Mail and were told that
there may be a degree of disruption. Rather than leaving people in
the dark, we then took the decision to inform our Members of this,
to minimise confusion and disappointment.

Unfortunately, this issue was then compounded by industrial action by
Royal Mail staff at the Northampton sorting office, which serves our warehouse.
The Royal Mail assure us that their normal service has now fully resumed
for both outbound and inbound postage and we can only apologise to those
of our Members who have been inconvenienced by these postal issues,
which were out of our control.

We would also like to take the opportunity to stress that
MyMovieStream's service is designed to provide our Members with fast
turnaround and their top choices of movies all year round, not just
during an initial trial period, and are sure this will be reflected in
your contributors' ongoing comments over time.

For further information on the above or any other queries please email
us at customerservice@mymoviestream.co.uk or login and use
the "contact us" option on our site and we will respond immediately.

Thank you for your attention.

Have spoken, as bazwaldo did, to the man at mymoviestream. He seemed genuinely sorry for the problems and assures me that the mail problem has now been fixed.

Everyone's allowed one mistake!! (Said the tortoise climbing of the german helmet), so I will continue to use them and see if I have any more problems, for at least one more period. I will also be asking for a partial refund for the wait for my dvd's, which may spur them on to keep checking on what's going on. I also suggested they at least put thier fax number on the site, as that is how I got through to them in the first instance. When the fax was recieved, I did recieve an email apologising for everything (the war, the ozone layer etc.)

Hope people will take note of the good comments and continue trying.

EOM

This is all very well, but there doesn't appear to be any comment from you about where this leaves the customer.
For example, Blockbuster have had problems this week and they are going to give me a refund.
Other companies (such as LoveFilm) have given me an extension to my next billing period.
About 6 month ago, MovieChoices gave me extra time to return the discs (at the end of trial period), because of circumstances beyond my control.

You haven't stated what your company are going to do as a gesture of goodwill for the customer, or does the customer still have to "foot the bill" for all the problems?

But if they were problems they should have been published some information on the mymoviestream site or inform to all members by email.

Completely agree !!

Even just a little message such as, "We are sorry to all our customers at this moment in time, as the guard dog got hungry through the night and ate half our stock"

There are far too many companies out there who expect the customer to put up with excuses, when what is really needed is RESULTS.

Well with all respect to you guys, its hardly mymoviestream's/royal mail fault that they have been affected by the sad events in London. Sometimes things happen outwith anyone's control.

They did e-mail all members.
