After several moans to Lovefilm about not sending enough disks (I'm on a 4-disk-at-once subscription but never have more than 3 out), today they send me this:
"As one of our valued members, and someone who watches a lot of films, we'd like to offer you a little something extra. We've identified a select group among our LOVEFiLM members, you being one of them, that watch a lot more than the average member. Because of this, we're introducing, especially for you, an Extreme package.
This new Extreme package gives you unlimited DVD rentals with a massive 8 discs at a time and is available for £39.99 per month - this means you'll never be without a DVD to watch ever again. "
If they can't even manage to send 4 disks, what chance do you think there is of getting 8?
That's what I thought.
And if they did send 8, do you think they'd get a bit miffed if I sent them all back the day after receiving them

Might as well just give them a blank cheque as sign up for this ficticious service.Anybody who falls for that is more of a mug than us fools who fell for the 3 for 1 con trick. . |

Obviously the idea with so many disks at once is that no-one could legitimately claim to have watched that many films and send them back the next day. They can then claim an unlimited service without needing to delay disks (because the delay is shifted to the viewers end).
It's a way of providing the same number of disks as you would get on a 4-at-a-time with fast turnaround (like they used to do), but for more money.
Now, it would still be a reasonable deal, but I just don't trust them to keep the disks coming.
I rather they would be more honest and set a monthly limit with the ability to recharge if you reach it, like DVDs365 do (although the post from them is cr*p. Out of 10 disks so far, 2 are missing presumed nicked by the RM and 6 of them took over 4 days to reach me)
