I have been a subscriper with Lovefilm.com for some time and would just like to make other subscribers aware of an unfortunate incident that happened to me today.

I went online to add titles to my account and a message came up to tell me my account was suspended as they had been unable to collect funds from me for 4 weeks (this was inaccurate, and money had been taken out of my account as usual). They said that my details had been referred to a Debt Collection company, and when I rang Lovefilm they were unable to explain or discuss this with me. They gave me a number for CARES GB Ltd who were dealing with it. On ringing them I was subjected to a threatening line of abuse and was basically told pay up or else.

I have made a formal complaint to the Credit Services Association about CARES who are a member, and also written to Lovefilm. I am yet to receive a reply.

I think all prospective subscribers should be aware of this before they join up.

Sounds nasty, did she give any other details?

Why was she passed to this company?

Surely she should have been contacted when they could not take payment, did she ignore it?

dear admin,

am i the only one that thinks that lovefilm should be given a 'possible problems' warning? rather disconcertiung what happened to the lovefilm user above and this coupled with all the forum member complaints makes lovefilm a rather dodgy company at the moment- at least as far as customer service is concerned...

In regards to the main DVD list on the website, I thought Mr Admin would have put a 'warning' message (possible problems) against LoveFilm by now, considering how much negative feedback there has been. But that's not my call..

Lovefilms new 'Fair play' policy is to charge for multiple discs and only send you ONE ata time. This has been extended to setting debt collection agencies on to you when you try to quit.

you all have been warned. This company is run by phycos.
