If they continue as they have done so far this week, I'll stay for a while. If it's as bad as it was the two weeks before then, I'll be going at the end of the three months (+1 week free for moaning!)

I'm pissed off too. The service, after a +ve blip has gone back to being shite. All the DVDs I get are from the bottom half of my list and renting a series is just impossible. I don't care what they offer in the future I will not return to this company. I suppose the buy 1 get 2 free was always too good to be true. Lets face it we all fell for a con. trick.

Sorry to be the only positive voice on the thread, but once again, Lovefilm have acknowledged receipt of 3 DVDs posted yesterday, and allocated new titles, flagged for shipment today.

Maybe complaining by phone is the only way to get their attention.

Take a look at this e-mail from your pals at lovefilm.

Thank you for your email, unfortunately we have been experiencing excessive demands in our discs, which has generated a delay in the processing of discs. While we have busy periods we are operating a fair play policy which means our system will prioritise a customer's dispatch, allocating a next available dispatch date. This gives every customer an equal chance of getting their next disc as soon as possible. No one customer will get priority as this would be unfair. Confused

Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards,
Lori Adams
LOVEFiLM Customer Services

This proves that they are lying as it is quite clear from this forum that you and some other members are getting a priority service (at the moment).
They are burglars mate.

Not my pals, mate.

I call it as I see it. When their service was cr*p (and it was!) I was quick to say so. When it improved (and it has, for me at least), I reported the facts.

It would be wrong to give anyone thinking about using Lovefilm the wrong impression, either way. People can make thir own judgement based on volume of posts.

For me, this week, it's been fine. On average, looking at the sample of people posting on this and other threads, it's still nowhere near good enough. And the possibility that they way be lying through their teeth (which is re-inforced by me and others posting that some users are getting good service) is disgusting.

Please don't imply that I'm sort of Lovefilm fan. I'm just another paying customer.

Seriously man, no one here is saying that they are friends with them. In my case I am very happy with the service & have no problems, but as with everything & all services world wide there will be problems for soem & not for others.

Complaining by phone didn't make much difference for me but I will be complaining again. I'm pleased some people are getting better service but makes a complete mockery of their "fair play" system Rolling Eyes

I had to phone them a couple of days ago and the girl I spoke to was very unhelpful. The only thing she done for me was phone me back when I requested this.....other than that she was completely useless and certainly not versed in good customer relations.
All I wanted to point out to them was that they sent me the same disc (from a 2 disc series) which happened because of the wrong labelling on the dvd case and I knew that the same thing would happen again, but she couldn't see it from my point of view. All she wanted to do was add it to my list again and when I pointed out that there is no point in doing that, because the same error would happen again.
I also told her that I am losing out, because I could have had a disc that I haven't seen, she just couldn't see my point, so ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH and I told her, I want to speak to someone else.

I ended up speaking to another girl who was the exact opposite and couldn't do enough for me.
She sent me the correct disc (in addition to my normal list) so today I received 4 dvds from them, but if the first girl I spoke to had her way, it would have been 3 discs and I would have received the same disc for the 3rd time.

So I guess it pays to ask to speak to someone else, as they obviously have good and cr*p workers.

Ever thought they may well be doing what the company instructs them to?

Sorry I'm not even standing for the this time, I work in CS myself & can tell you that most of the time the staff (& managers) have no say in what they can offer you.

So please don't be so hard on the staff, they are after all just doing their job.

j2k4.......In my experience of having to deal with Customer Services in any capacity, I have found many to be helpful and others to be downright unhelpful pigs.

For example, I have taken bad goods back to stores and have had to fight tooth and nail to get my money back, yet in the same stores (served by someone else), have got a full refund without any fuss and a gift voucher (or extra money) as a token of goodwill.

I have been quite fortunate with some of the staff I have spoken to on the phone at Love Film.
For example, I had my 3 for 1 offer extended to 4 for 1 and this was at their discretion.
My girlfriend slammed the phone down a few weeks ago in disgust, so I phoned them back and spoke to someone else and they added extra weeks to our account.

I come across good and bad service as I find it and I can usually tell within the first minute of speaking to someone from CS whether they are going to preach their company policy at me, or give me customer satisfaction.......believe me, there really is a difference in who is on the switchboard at the other end of the phone.

Wink

that may well e the case.

I am quite sure the CS team at LOVEFiLM are all normal people like you & I who are just doing there job, I think it's a bit much to be slating them it may well not be their fault at all as tehy are just acting as instructed.

I don't know what their instructions are, anymore than you do.....unless of course you work for LoveFilm.

So the question still exists.....why have I had different service depending on who I have spoken to at LoveFilm?

Let me tell you a quick story.......
I used to be a field technician with a well known cable company and unlike customer services (who only dealt with the customers over the phone), I had to deal with the customers face to face.
The customer service side of the company left a lot to be desired and because of this, many customers took their wrath out on us.
This problem got so bad with the company, that they had to make it part of the customer service training, that they had to come out with us for a day.
So I ended up having to have a CS worker with me quite a lot and some of them where quite enthusiastic, while others had a bad attitude problem.
Needless to say, it didn't take me long to know who would be good for the company and who would not......but it was not my decision to make as this was simply part of their training.

The motto of this company was (and probably still is)........THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST !!!!

This is probably a motto for all companies, but unfortunately there are many CS workers out there, who would rather put the company first and the customer last.

LoveFilm may have workers who have been given instructions by the company, but they must also have some additional powers of flexabilty and be able to work on their own initiative, because I have had more benefitial service depending on who I have spoken to.

So if I want to "slate" anyone that has an attitude problem when it comes to dealing with customers (namely me), then I will damn well do so !!!

Admit it, you are only defending people who work in customer services, because you are in the same job........lol

Very Happy Very Happy
