Instead of answering my query about why they are holding on to discs for an extra day, today I got an offer email from LoveFilm offering a chance to save 20% on my monthly price if I pay and sign up for a year in advance!
Don't know if they generally do things like this or they are just trying to cling onto customers that might quit due to their turn around woes.
Does anyone know if they are losing more customers faster than they should be.

LOL! Instead of answering my complaint I got a "forward this email to your friends, so they too can try Lovefilm"

My reply .....

You must be joking - I wouldn't recommmend you to anyone. Before sending this kind of email you ought to check you can keep customers you've already got happy. Or is this to try and replace the people who are leaving? If you're in any doubt check out the following links

In fact I will forward this to friends - hopefully it'll save them making the mistake of even trying your service.

But lets face it they wont even read the email - I'll get some standard reply of absolutely no use!

Just got a standard reply:
We do our best to get our customers the next DVDs they want as quickly
as possible the vast majority , around 75% of our dispatches are
completed on the same or next working day as receiving the returned discs.

which doesn't answer my specific question - I asked why, for the last 8 months every single disc was always sent out the same day it was returned to them, but in the last two months they always go out the day after at least.

If they were more open about this and just said something like "we have had a high volume of new users recently and we hope to have the service more speedy in the near future" (or whatever the problem is) then I would understand and not be looking around for another company to use.

I think they are being more open than I thought they would be - when you talk to them on the phone. However it's only people that call up to complain about turn around that are being told of what they're doing.
All their other customers are all in the dark about why their turn around times have suddenly increased.

What I still don't understand is: with whatever system they have in place at the moment, how 2 dvds can be received back on their system on the same day but one goes out the next day but the other doesn' t leave until 2 days after. It's very unlikely that all of my 45 choices are not in stock.
