I got a month free that was good but now Im a paying customer the service is slow. Its still good value overall though, much cheaper than the video shop.
I think you all need to get out more, how about a nice walk in the park. You might even meet someone. |
We're whining cos we're not get getting what it says on the tin.
It still maybe good value to you,but to some people who are getting films that are way down on their lists at say no's 58,59 and 60,what they only put on just to try to get a regular supply, and only get these at a rate of 12 a month on a 3 disc package it's nowhere near good value. It's piss poor.
Is it not better value if you get twice as many discs per month, which is what you should get as standard with any decent rental firm.
It sounds like you've had one to many walks in the park and met someone from lovefilm you've fell in love with. |

Here's lovefilms latest bullshit erm.. slant on their 'fair play policy'.
It seems that we are now queeing as if we are at Tescos.
Quote:
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Although there is no limit to the number of films you can watch, we operate a fair play policy. In the same way that you may sometimes have to queue at a supermarket checkout, our systems will prioritise customers DVD dispatch by allocating a next dispatch date. This gives all of our customers better chances of receiving more of their top 10 choices.
Please feel free to contact us, in case of any further queries.
Yours Sincerely,
**********
LOVEFiLM Customer Services
Since being part of this fair play policy i have not had 1 film in my top 20,
as opposed to before this policy came into being i got them regular as clockwork.Go figure. |

Excuse me but why dont you go and grow yourself a life? I really just cannot be bothered to care that much because Im receiving 12 dvds a month instead of 15 or whatever amount you think would satisfy your unreasonable expectations of 'unlimited'.
If you dont like their service then cancel it. If you have so little in your life that you think your online dvd rental company being a little slow is worth all this protracted wailing and hand wringing then I can only pity you.
I do sympathise with people whove really been messed around but the majority of the complaints on this board concerning all the companies seem to emanate from students and the long term unemployed with too far too much time on their hands and too little money to fill it. |

Concencus of opinion will tell you that unlimited rentals means you will not be limited in the number of rentals you can receive. No matter how you look at it,lovefilm are limiting this service and therefore are in breach of contract. As for cancelling i think you will find that no sane person is going to cancel while they are in credit. If they did, then lovefilm will win hands down. But come the end of their terms people will be outta there in their droves.
I am not a student or long term unemployed but what is your problem with them. Isn't the fact that they have very little money a good enough reason to demand value for their 'paid in good faith' fee.
As for myself i am past caring about my poor service, but i do want lovefilm to see that what they are doing goes against the grain and either
return the service to normal or admit they cannot cope and are in fact limiting the service they provide.Personally i cannot see them doing either and will just carry on oblivious to all around.
Just as a matter of point you must have so little in your life that you have time to attack right minded little people and defend the wrong doing mighty corporates. |

Anway ruggedtoast, the number of DVDs/month isn't the only issue. Nobody seems to be getting anything at the top end of their list anymore. I certainly don't. They also continue to advertise DVDs they have told me are no longer available when I have requested them. They also advertise DVDs they don't even stock. All this and more add up to a substandard service.
It doesn't matter who people are. Be they 9 to 5ers, students, long term unemployed or house bound for health reasons. We all deserve the service they say they will provide . |

Agreed.. And yep, I'm not happy so I've since cancelled my LoveFilm account; they were a good company. Anyway everybody, stop moaning and go watch a DVD or something.. What's that? You're still waiting for a DVD.. Oh, I see. Hehe. |

What a lot of tosh! Lovefilm must love you. Are you their employee of the month?
Let me set you straight on a few things, just so you don't get confused again;
I'm not unemployed, or a student. I own my own music store and get time each day to use the internet, hence grabbing the odd 10 mins here and there to add support to this complaint against Lovefilm.
Lovefilm's actions deserve to be highlighted. Your attempts at supressing rightful complaints in a free society are more akin to a developing communist regime. You are of course free to voice your opinion here, but please refrain from personal attacks on other people. It doesn't serve you well.
Perhaps your comments would be best used to explain exactly how you manage to get a service from lovefilm which matches what it was up until several weeks ago. If your service has declined also, then i repeat my earlier post - 'It's because of people like you that Lovefilm get away with this.'
Lastly, don't berate other people for standing up for what they believe in. It's a character trait to be proud of, i believe. |

Because we want what we paid for - 3 months unlimited rentals for the price of 1. Why is that SO difficult for you to understand? I mean, really, it's very simple. Jeez, it's almost as if you work for Lovefilm or something. Spread your propaganda if you wish, just don't expect it to matter here. |

Just tried ringing Lovefilm to complain about another day with no dispatch and find that they've changed their phone system. After a few minutes of 'we are busy' messages, you get diverted to a voicemail. You no longer get the option to stay on hold and speak to someone.
I'm glad in a way, because it shows how much they can't handle the complaints |

Good posts Doblersdream......
Unfortunately, those 2 LoveFilm propagandists will never back down from their purpose, which is to counteract the deceitful service that everyone here has had from LoveFilm.
They know that watchdog organisations may be reading these posts (as well as new LoveFilm customers), so they are doing what they can for the company that they support 100%
At least we know the truth........
LoveFilm are a bunch of lying cheats |

THERE IS ONE WAY TO GET LOVEFILM TO START TRADING PROPERLY.
Whether or not you are one day, or 28 days into your billing period, cancel your account, phone your credit card company, and tell them that you paid for a online service using their card, but you are not receiving the service you paid, and the company is withholding product.
They then have to ,under the consumers act, re-credit your account with the amount you paid, and investigate.
They will try and tell you, you have no right to do it, but ask them to put it in writing to you, and I guarantee if you complain enough, they will credit you back. If they don't cancel your credit card, and ask to speak to someone higher up... they soon will come round to your way of thinking.
The end result, there will be a flood of 'charge backs' to Love Film, and the credit cards, via VISA, MASTERCARD etc, will soon notice this, and stop taking payments for them, after warning/speaking/investagating them. They then will have to change their ways, or they simply wont be able to trade, because they will have no way to collect payment.
It is very surprising how few complaints over a short space of time, for an online retailer to get investigated, and have their merchant account frozen.
It's drastic, but at the end of the day, they are taking the piss out of there customers. Only a few moments ago I got another email asking to to sign up to their excellent service, a service by there own admission they can't dispacth discs quick enough.
If they done what DVDs365 have done and limit you to 20 a month, then who would care. I wouldn't if they were up front about it. But by limiting you and claiming unlimited rentals they are taking the piss and deserve to be brought down.
Good Luck, and lets make these con artists trade fair. |
