The Lovefilm experience May 1st - 31st

I have being a member of Lovefilms since 13/11/04 and have being a paying member since 15/12/04. I will update this diary daily Monday to friday with A summery On sunday. I currently have 32 items in my selection, with 1 showing a low availability number 3 on my list. i will note where the items are sent from my selection and will try to watch the films the same arrival day or the next day for prompt returns. So let it begin

Just posted back DVD1 today. As expected lovefilms do not work Bank Holidays still showing DVD2 and 3 awaiting turnaround. Have not received any mail asking to add to queue so only Lovefilms know why i had only i film over the bank holiday with 2 awating turnaround, We shall see what tommorrow brings

here is the current state of play

DVD1 still going through the system unlikely to be collected from post box till today due to bank holiday
DVD2 showing sent 03/05/05 from Lovefilms number 17 from selection (disc 5 of 6 from a tv series)
DVD3 showing sent 03/05/05 from Lovefilms Number 2 in list (newly added 02/05/05)

Showing 2 low availability warnings on selection 3 and 6 even though selection2 has being in my list for over 8 weeks without a warning. Will await tomorrows arrivals

DVD1 arrived back at lovefilms but awaiting allocation
DVD2 arrived this morning watched returned to Lovefilm (made post postman collected just after i got there)
DVD3 arrived this morning will watch tonight and post back tomorrow)

Just for references i have being a member for approx 5 months and had 52 movies an average of about 10 a month i would not say i am a heavy user

DVD3 still with me awaiting return postage

I'm guessing they have no dvds to send me but they have not sent me a mail saying i need to add to my selections looks like i could be on my back to screenselect or trying blockbusters

Looks like lovefilm are holding films back. updated my list to now 40 in queue

DVD1 showing sent 06/05/05 (no 7 from selection)
DVD2 still awaiting allocation
DVD3 with me unable to post today

Unless the status changes looks like i will have less then 3 for another weekend due to them taking more then a day to allocate titles. Will update if changes

Just a quick update i now have 3 dvds with me

DVD1 Awaiting postage back to lovefilm
DVD2 Awaiting postage back to lovefilm
DVD3 arrived 10/05/05 (number11 on rental list)

Will update when post back to lovefilm

Have posted DVD 1 + 2 back today interesting to see when they get them and if i get a delayed dispatch date

It is quite clear Lovefilm are receiving the discs and are not turning round the same day. This has happened every rental so far this month. My next billing date is 15/05/05 I am seriously considering freezing the acount and then canceling when they have all the discs back in their possesion. Time to give Blockbusters a try

I have decided to freeze my account ( i will return the outstanding disc tomorrow) interesting to see if it reaches them before my next billing date. I am moving to blockbusters i have a voucher for a months trial. Blockbusters have being receiving mixed reviews so the rest of the month will be the blockbuster experience. I will get the same films i wanted from Lovefilms. By the way my average cost per DVD is £1.83 with an average of about 10 films a month not really what you would class as an heavy user but still encountering a turnaround delay.

DVD3 posted back confirmation mails of account freeze will take place when dvd returned

Just checked blockbuster have sent out 3 of my top 5 on the day of joining. Titles i were waiting wekkes for with Lovefilm

dvd showing returned. Unfreezed account and cancelled. Sorry lovefilms if you are going to do special offers please do not take the preverbial out of you're existing users or like me they will leave and go elsewhere

Well said, and well done!!

I to just joined Blockbusters. Done it 3 minutes to midnight, like a tital pratt, so I instantly lost one day there. Then dont notice I had to activeate my account until 5pm yesterday so lost another day there!!!! They sent me out titles this morning, 3 out of top 6.
