I have been with lovefilm for 4 weeks now and the turnaround of their service is terrible.

In one week I received 2 rentals and the week before that I got 3.
I am with the 3 at once package, but that is not what I am getting.

They never confirm when they receive them back, they always wait around 2 days before confirming they receive them back.

That's dissapointing, but also consider Royal Mail might be at fault in your area. We all point the finger at someone (which reflects in many of the msgs in these forum's), but in the end.. you're just unlucky, damn. Crying or Very sad

I really do not believe Royal Mail are at fault. I previously used Blockbuster and averaged 6 DVDs per week. Lovefilm are slowing down the process in my opinion.

Seriously mate it's a rent by post service, Royal Mails completely poor service these days is bound to have an effect on how it runs.

It baffles me as to how many people in this country refuse to believe how bad Royal Mail really are, stuff gets lost, borrowed or sent to the wrong delivery office & all this is before the posties have got hold of them, where they can end up being borrowed AGAIN depending on the experience of the postie they can even end up being delivered to the wrong address altogether.

I am by no means saying LOVEFiLM are totally blame less but lets just appreciate they are not the only ones at fault here.

The DVDs tend to take 3 days for them to receive from me but when they dispatch to me I get them the next day?

How could there only be a one way delay?

Blame Royal Mail or DVD Company - We've debated about this so many times, hehe.. The joys of Online Rentals!

The lame excuse I got from them, when I complained about their slow turnaround was this:

As we are based in Essex and you are from Scotland, it can take days for any mail to get sent down to us.

Where the hell do they think I live......in some cottage on top of Ben Nevis ??

I've been with some of the other dvd rental companies and I have had discs returned back to them the next day.

Just as a bad workman always blames his tools.......a bad dvd rental company always blames the Royal Mail.

I'm another ex LoveFilm triallist tempted back by the 3month offer.

My frustration is that it is so damn un-predictable. One return can be turned around almost instantly, the next can disappear for up to a week. I sympathise with those who blame (in part or full) Royal Mail, but back to back comparsion with other services does not show Lovefilm in a good light.

One particular irritation is the email notification (for which I suspect the Royal Mail is blameless) I have just received today an email notifying me of the despatch of a DVD that I have already watched and shipped back. I expected it to arrive back with them today! The website says it was despatched on the 18th, I get an email dated the 21st!!!

However, praise where praise is due. LoveFilm have consistently delivered tiltles from the top 3 of my list, week in week out. My last experience was with Blockbuster who seemed to ignore my top ten requests for the 3 months I was with them.

If anything the LoveFilm turnaround seems to be getting worse. Perhaps this is due to increased volume with people like me re-joining. Will I stay with them after the three months? The jury is out.

i also went back from the 3 month deal.

it seems from the payable month they couldnt get films to me quick enough and they recieved all films back next day. But to the day exactly one month (the payable part) it now takes 3- 4 days to get back. they always arrive to me a day after they should and i get mails to say they have been send out when ive actually watched and already sent back

Just as well the next few months are free Very Happy

I read a lot of the users comments about LoveFilm and it's all negative. Sad It's a bit dissapointing and agree they're not perfect but it's funny how everyone speaks up about the negative aspects moreso than the postive side of things. You're all a bunch of whinging poms! Hehehe.. Very Happy

But true, it's moreso the DVD company and not Royal Mail, in reviewing these comments, that's at fault it seems. If I gave up on LoveFilm, if I was to ever have such problems, I'd go to DVDs365 next .. Who's your next choice?

Marty

I agree about only hearing bad news on these forums. To counter this I've tried to set up a FACT based way of measuring how well the companies performs. See my thread under the general section.

You are welcome to join in......

Hahaha.. Yeah, I think it's good what your doing, as I said, it's always good to have someone's overall insight to every company like all these DVD guide sites.

I'll give praise where due and criticise when needed, with the odd blunt remark.. that's how I work when giving a review; it's a nice balance.
I don't want to start sounding like a whinging pom, and when I do, I know I've been in England far too long. Confused

I look forward to your future stats and comments, enjoy!

I feel so angry with them, that I feel like punching my fist through the wall...... Twisted Evil

I was on the 3 for 1 offer and I had decided to cancel with them a few days ago (after 2 weeks), because of their cr*p service and the person I spoke to on their telephone, saw things from my point of view, so I left it to him to sort everything out......what a waste of time!!

I got an email from them today, telling me that they don't refund for parts of a month and that it is my choice if I want to reactivate my account so that they can send me DVDs for the remainder of the period.

I don't even know how I am meant to reactivate my account, as they seem to have disabled it at their end, so that I can't login to their site.

Looks like I am going to have to wait until Monday, before I can speak to them.

GRRRRrrrr......

I'm finding their 3 DVDs a week an absolute stinker. I paid for a service that was 3 at a time unlimited, but they choose to ensure I only get 3 a week. They lie about when they get them back. I return on Tuesday and they receive the Tuesday after, A WHOLE WEEK!

I query why I always get movies the next day after dispatch yet it takes them a whole week to receive mine, they send me the same pathetic automated response, blaming Royal Mail for the delay, NOT LIKELY.

This happens every week, I sent an email to their CEO last Monday mark.livingstone@lovefilm.com still no reply. Do not waste your money with this company. I look forward to the end of my subscription and will never use these clowns again.
