Hey, I'm special too.. touch wood. I think it's only a small minority who aren't special like us.

| I have put my account on freeze because I am going away - but because of the very slow turnaround on processing DVD's they are trying to charge me even though they have sent me an e-mail saying they have had the outstanding DVD's back (before the start of my account freeze!) but they are not showing on their system due to computer problems their end!! Really fair NOT! Money grabbing gits! I've cancelled my credit card anyway! |

After all the praise I've given LoveFilm, it's really dissapointing that their service has dropped off, for quite a few. |

Well I spoke too soon. The rot has well and truely set in with Lovefilm for me too. Turnaround has ground to a snails pace now that I'm 2-3weeks in to the buy one month get two free deal. I'm pretty sure it's gonna stay like this now until the end. No point in complaining to them as they don't take any notice.
Cheers,

Exactly the same problems with turnaround, and there are more people here:
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=210037
Also I regularly don't get anything from my top 50, and right now, despite having over 100 in my queue, and paying for four a month, I only have one currently being shipped to me. The other three are all marked as returned, they just haven't sent any more out. I think if tomorrow isn't any better I'm going to cancel.
What's a good alternative? Blockbusters? Screenselect?
I don't like the look of dvds365 due to the monthly limit.
Also, this may be of interest to you:
| Quote: | Hey All,
I just spoke to a friend in the US who is a subscriber to NetFlix (The US equivalent of Love Film) and he informed me of the following:
"You may not know this but Netflix has a "priority" status for people that are light users. I read that on their site.
The logic according to NF is that giving priority to light users evens up the experience to that of heavy users (sic).
So yes , if you are a heavy user (3 movies a week on the 3 plan or more) you fall to second class statue. I'm not sure what that means but my guess is that you get lower priority for hot releases and that your churn time is slowed down. It regrettable that NF cannot extend the quality they gave me in the tryout period to the rest of the time.
Furthermore, the average rental for NF is 5 DVD's per month for the 3 plan. So they make $3.75 per DVD, not bad considering that they have a very low overhead(compared to a video store). If you rent 12 movies a month they only make $ 1.80 -+ per movie that hurts their bottom line, so I'm not surprised to see delay tactic built into heavy user's accounts. too bad.
So this probably explains the delay we are experiencing ???????? |
So yeah, they're also lying when they blame it on the royal mail. |

| We are also trying to locate a decent rental company after parting company with Lovefilm or should that be Hatefilm!! How hopeless they are. As yet we can't decide between Screenselect or blockbuster either, Does anyone have any suggestions as we don't want to go through the same snail paced, non existant customer service again!? Organising and brewery's spring to mind with Lovefilm. |

As you know, I've always stood by LoveFilm, but I've now truly seen the dark side and I have turned; a DVD was received by them today and nothing was dispatched.. that's p!ss poor. LoveFilm is no longer the great company I had always praised it for, time to move on me thinks.. My next choice is DVDs365. |

3 DVDs received yesterday at 9am at Lovefilm and as yet they have not dispatched any DVDs 27hrs later (got 50 in my list!) which means nothing for the weekend. They are basically limiting it to 3DVDs a week. Don't forget, this is suppose to be unlimited rental. Total bull.
Cheers,

Why don't people do what I've done and suggested on other forums?
It works this way, go into your a/c and freeze it for "the full 90 days". In that time you will not be billed. Go to Blockbuster or similar and get a trial or a package there if you've previously used a trial and if/when things improve with LoveFilm simply return. You can unfreeze your a/c there at any time. If things don't improve simply reactivate and cancel when your sub is due again. I've had 6 DVD's already this week from Blockbuster even with the Bank holiday so have had plenty to watch, all my top choices so far too.
If ENOUGH people did that they'd soon get the message! As with any modern business they only have "1" major concern - YOUR MONEY! For goodness sake hit them where it hurts, it's all well and good sending emails and making phone calls but that only usually has limited success at best.
After all what have you got to lose? It's not like anybody's getting the decent service that they are paying for after all. |

I noticed the very moment my month free trial ended with lovefilm the turnaround dropped from same day return to next day.
Im in week 2 of my first paid month and it now seems that thats stretching to 3 days or more.
This isnt on as its not what I signed up for on the basis of their free trial. Its cynical to say the least. Im not a real heavy user either but I would like the opportunity of having more than three dvds a week occasionally, which is impossible if theyre going to take 4 days to turn everything around.
Annoying as I really like thier site and have a lot of dvds queued.
They are sending me stuff from the top of my list though so ill persevere for a bit and put in a complaint. |

| Lovefilm seem to be sticking with the slow turnaround after the free trial - this is cr*p as they are taking the p*ss to make more money! They have asked me to rejoin after I cancelled - yeh like I really want to throw some more money their way so I can get a maximum of 3 DVD's a week sometimes! They had such a good service at first but seem to be sticking with the American model of acting stupid when you say things have slowed down (they make more profit!) and blaming Mr postman! Isn't it strange how stuff they send takes 24 hours to arrive and DVD's you return take over 72 hours! |
